The New Way to Celebrate

I had to take a minute to just think on what these last few months have brought to the table. Covid-19, what can I say? This time of uncertainty and turmoil has definitely challenged many of us in numerous ways. It has been an extremely challenging time for those in the hospitality and events industry. Friends, love ones and clients have found it difficult to postpone milestone events that they have been planning for months, some for years. Despite all of this our community have found a way to pivot.

We have learned how to connect and celebrate in ways that are innovative and fun. Planners and designers have taken the intimate affair to the next level. Photographers are extending their services beyond the regular photo shoots of the past. Virtual events have connected us with love ones from afar and technology has shown us a new way to celebrate.

We are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel now as things begin to open up again. However, there is still uncertainty about how things will operate and what will be allowed. What ever may come I am beyond excited to have been given the opportunity to connect love ones from near and far through my virtual events. Divinely Eloquent events planning had a chance to provide a virtual story time for mother’s within our social media community. We have had make up celebrations and mommy and me cooking classes. We have fallen smitten with serving our clients in this new innovative way and will provide these virtual options from now on.

You may want to throw 2020 away for all the stress it has caused thus far. We want to challenge you to take a look at all the good it has brought. For many it was the pause that they needed. For some it was a time to plan and redirect. Here at Divinely Eloquent Events it thought us a new way to celebrate. If you are within the United States, made a big move and you are missing love ones? Missing your girlfriends from college and have not had a chance to celebrate an important milestone with them. Take some time out to browse our virtual celebrations. If I said D.E.E.P skated through covid-19 with out any challenges that would be a lie. What I can say is even with all the challenges we came out with a new zeal, more tenacity and a new way to celebrate!

Share with us some fun things you and your family did to keep your spirits up. Did any of our friends reading have a covid birthday? We would love to hear from you.

Holiday Blues: What to do when you don’t want to party?

I am beyond excited for the start of this Holiday season. I have always been a lover of family gathering and all things Christmas. But this year I was met with the reality that everyone around me may not be feeling the same way about the holidays. An extremely close friend of mine lost her mother last year very close to the holidays. Me being vested as much as I am to my friends and family I could not over look that this holiday will bring her some feelings outside of warm and mushy. She will have to deal with feelings like anxiety and sadness. But I am watching my friend overcome the holiday blues in a way that I had to share with my party going crew (that’s you).

It’s hard enough dealing with holiday parties without any emotional trauma and grieving.  Black twitter took to the internet with a whirl wind of clap backs for all your invasive cousins, aunts and uncles. I mean it is hilarious check out this buzz feed article to see a few Holiday Clap Backs

Funny as those clap backs are; the truth is all of your well meaning questions can add anxiety to your holiday gatherings so be careful what you are asking friends and family in the mist of small talk. Be sensitive to family members that may have lost love ones. Think about what you may be asking and if this topic is a sensitive one. In other words don’t kill the vibe. Here are three things I have noticed my friend doing that is helping her cope with the lost of her mother for the holidays.

  1. Starting New Traditions- The holiday is a great time to start something new with friends and family to help you take your mind away from your grief. May be planning an upscale “Friendsgiving” dinner before your official Thanksgiving festivities. Even though isolation seems like what you want it can be a catalyst for increased depression.
  2. Change of atmosphere- Taking a trip from the usual holiday environment you may have shared with the love one you lost. We are going out of town for the holidays, a little girls trip. The excitement of the trip and a new space seems to be helping my girl friend a great deal.
  3. Change your small talk group- If  you step out to a party with family and friends trust your conscious. If you don’t like the way a conversation is going politely remove yourself from the conversation and find a group that you are more comfortable with. You can also just clap back (just kidding not the best option).

I love to party and passionately plan holiday gathering but my love for weddings, holiday gathering and social gatherings in general stem from my love for people. Holiday parties can be an emotional event for some. When you turn up this holiday season be tasteful. Like always happy planning from the passionate planner.

Unique Catering Options To Help You Save!

I absolutely love weddings. What I love most about weddings is there is little to no right or wrong way of creating your dream day. Sure there are classic and much needed  guest and wedding party etiquette. Aside from that your wedding can take you as far as your imagination. Any one who knows and love weddings understands that food and catering are a huge part of your big day. But not everyone understand the various options for your wedding catering and ways you can make it uniquely yours.

The plated meal is one of the most classic and popular serving options when it comes to weddings. This is a beautiful option for a classic formal wedding. You can always differentiate your wedding by the quality of food you serve during your plated meal. Then, those that are trying to cut cost typically favor the buffet option which is a great money saving option, but many caters have so much more to offer.

A unique way to serve your meal for a couple that is very warm and family oriented is a “Family Style” meal. This is when the cater prepares meals at the center of your guest table allowing them to pass the dishes to one another. A recent huff post article suggested that you can save up to 20% by choosing this little used meal option. This is a great way to save money and if you are a couple that wants that hometown Sunday dinner feel for your wedding a great way to personalize your day.

Another more modern option is a cocktail and food station reception. This is a great option for those brides and grooms that are ready to turn up and dance the night away. If you want your reception to be more about the party and creativity. Yet still want to leave your guest satisfied and talking about the unique food options, this is a great option. The sky is the limit with your station options; you can have fajita stations, pizza stations, local food stations, kid at heart stations with all your childhood favorites. Anything to match your theme. The guest can dance and mingle as they visit the different stations.

Both these options can help you save anywhere from 15 to 20% on your catering cost. A recent article in is quoting the national average for catering cost for weddings at  $4000. There are a great deal of varying factors when coming to that number. If you are going to throw a party as big as your wedding at least make it memorable. Consider the unique cost saving options above, break your self free of the limitations of the plated or buffet options. Truly consider your family, friends and what you want your reception to be remembered by.

Chew on the above options for a while! In the mean time happy planning and live passionately!

I know you can do it!

Events planning has taken a rather interesting shift in the past few years. The do it yourself movement and information  provided to consumers can seem overwhelming. But we here at D.E.E.P believe, just because you can do it yourself doesn’t mean you want to. Just because you can plan the party, cook the food, and provide entertainment doesn’t mean you should. Having the capability to do something and the time to do something is two different things. It is my absolute joy and passion to see someone enjoy an event that they visualized with out the stress of running around for the entire event.  It is important to take in any day you choose to celebrate with love ones by being in the moment. No running around, no worry, just peace. Next time you think, I can do that; I hope the next thought is, but I’m glad I don’t have to!

Take a glimpse of our guest enjoying one another at one of our D.E.E.P product launch events.
